Think about this… selling a few expensive (each with a nice chunk of profit) cuts down on time scouting, processing and inventory control. Time Saved is one of our goals in business – right?
We have avoided buying anything considered “expensive” because the cost of these products always seem so high and out of our comfort zone.
What about BIG products?
Have you ever thought about selling really BIG products on Amazon? Big – as in super over-sized, bulky, heavy, products.
We have avoided selling BIG products, because it’s something that feels like “toooo much work” or “toooo much to handle”.
We’ve Had A Little Inspiration Happening
We have learned that thrifting is one of our favorite ways to load up on inventory for Amazon FBA on the cheap.
We have often talked about scouting wide instead of deep.
This often means that we have loads of ‘stuff’ to list on Amazon.
What IF we sold fewer products that cost more (each) but the profits are high?
It’s a little scary to buy ONE thing for $100… we can buy lot’s of inventory for $100 at a thrift store.
What if that ONE product gave us in return more than 100% Return on our Investment – almost guaranteed? (almost!)
During this time of year (4th quarter) we all know that inventory moves faster and sells for a higher price point than normal. Right?
A few of those high ticket items might be a very nice way to move something for a nice high profit quickly. Double or Triple our money for much less effort than 50 $2 products.
50 – $2 (cost) – products would eventually make more profit… overall. But the workload is so little in comparison… it makes us take a few minutes to “think” about this as a possibility.
Now… take this extra bit of info into consideration:
What if this “expensive” products were BIG (HUGE) products?
This would require more effort on our part. E.F.F.O.R.T. = something most Amazon FBA sellers don’t want to even think about.
One of the things we often remind ourselves… if “everyone” doesn’t want to do “it” or “everyone” says it won’t work… we often look to see if this is an opportunity for us.
Beth – has thought about it and BIG products don’t suit her business model at this time… but Debra has no problem with this idea.
Sending in a few products that are HUGE will take extra effort and this doesn’t scare her at all! BUT… it has to be the “right” products. BIG and Expensive = profits for Amazon FBA.
It would take some “cashola” to buy, box and ship a BIG Expensive product to Amazon FBA warehouses. This idea is NOT for those of you who are starting out selling on Amazon… it’s far better to wait until you are comfortable with selling and how Amazon works… which takes a while.
Looking For The Opportunities
Jordan Malik of FindSpotter.com has opened my eyes to an opportunity that is happening Right Now. He recently published a guide that gave me a quick education about selling BIG – Expensive products – and a different way to scout as well.
The guide is about 3 specific toys. Just 3! But it’s really not just about these 3 toys… I learned a lot more (Jordan got me thinking about the “what ifs?).
I read through this guide several times, watched all the videos and couldn’t find one question that wasn’t answered. I love when products over deliver in their promises.
NOTE: One thing you must know about me… I don’t review a product and then tell you about it IF I don’t believe in it myself.
Jordan produced a similar guide last year (in an entirely different niche and no longer available). I looked it over and decided that niche was “out of her comfort zone) and handed it to her hubby. It was all about finding specific appliances at thrift stores that sell for huge profits on Amazon. Hubby took to the idea like a Duck to Water… and ran with it. In his limited spare time, he has found profitable inventory to flip on Amazon.
This years guide is about Toys – BIG – EXPENSIVE – Toys (what’s not to love about the Toy subject). These are toys that are no longer produced and will NOT ever be produced again (according to the manufacturer).
Remember – this guide is about just 3 toys. Toys so specific you would probably never think of adding them to your sourcing list.

- How to box the toy. Answered.
- How much to pay for the toys. Answered.
- How much does it cost to ship these toys to Amazon. Answered.
- What to do if the “accessories” are not included with the toy? Answered.
- Where and How to find these toys. Answered.
- Video tutorials covering just about every detail you can think of. Yep.
- How to tell if these toys will be profitable. Yes.
- Are their tools to make it easier to find these toys? Yes. Are they expensive tools? No – most of them are free.
- How would I calculate weight and size of this product boxed? Jordan did it for us already.
- Is their a fast and easy way to list and label these products? Yep – you can watch a video for that.
- If we have never seen these toys in working action before… how will we know they work? Jordan has video’s that show these toys in working action.
- Are these toys going to be found locally? It depends. 😉 I used Jordan’s tips for finding a few of them… not locally, but in a city close enough to make it worth the drive if a few of these toys were found at about the same time.
- How would I manage getting these big boxes to UPS? Call them for pickup!
- How do I label the outside of a box like this? Jordan has the labels already for you to print!
Where’s the proof?!?
Of course Jordan shows proof of sales. He shows exactly what he paid… and the actual sales from his Amazon account. The very best thing about Jordan is that he is out scouting for thrifty opportunities with his wife every week. We know he is “In The Trenches” just like us.
What’s The A Ha Moment?
It’s not about the fact that he has handed you three really good options for toys that are not easy to find “new”. These toys are in high demand on Amazon… with very few sellers.
You might think… if everyone who buys this guide – get’s in on the action… prices will fall. Not so fast…. these toys will be in high demand for a very long time. (Trust me on this) My prediction is that you could perform this arbitrage any time over the next few years – over and over – and the prices should hold.
Plus… once you see exactly how and what Jordan is doing, you should be spending a bit of time looking for other opportunities similar to these three toys.
