In this Thrifting For Profit Podcast we discuss … It’s November 1st… Where Should You Focus Your Efforts Right Now?
Today Charlene Anderson of Purveyor Of All Things Creative is helping me answer questions on the air and in the chat room.
Everything Else Category Changes
Some changes to Amazon this category need your attention.
The “Everything Else” category is now suppressed. Your listings will not show up in search… it’s time to fix them.
I sent 7 listings to Amazon Help and they changed the category within 3 hours.
Destroy Inventory Changes
Did you know that Amazon has changed their “Destroy Inventory” terms of service? Amazon now has the option to liquidate those products in bulk.
Personally… I’d think about paying the 50 cents to have products returned and then donate them.
Focus For The Holidays
Do you feel distracted and overwhelmed? Are you sure you are doing everything you can to have a fantastic and profitable holiday season?
Were discussing some focused strategy today.
Check Your Inventory
Look at your inventory product pages – check for good title, bullet points, description and images.
Check Your Inventory For Red Line Errors.
Just about 1 year ago – Beth and I had a podcast about November reflection and December Anticipation – we also talked about fixing red line errors in this podcast:
Don’t let inventory sit if it’s hazmat or doesn’t have a listing. I’m guilty, and I’ve got to get that inventory figured out.
Clean out old inventory.
Create A Spreadsheet For Holiday Merchandise
Create some sort of spread sheet for your holiday focused products.
I went through all my inventory that I know I want to sell during the holidays.
I listed the Amazon Title and the URL. The price it’s selling for now. The price I am asking, The price I paid, The profit (from FBA calculator) and the sales rank. I went through last years sales and have been focused on the things that did really well for me.
Focus on anything you have multiple qty of.
Focus on anything holiday related.
Do You Sell On Ebay?
A very long discussion was started on the Thrifting For Profit Facebook Group about Amazon vs. Ebay. I see lot’s of sellers feeling that they should focus on Amazon only. (More Fun and Easier is the common theme).
I have piles of stuff (again) to sell on eBay. I’m looking at it all and decided to focus on specifics… Winter and Holiday/Gift Related.
Coats and sweaters are on the top of the list. Also every collectible I don’t have listed. The most expensive get’s listed first.
If you are selling on Ebay – I suggest you watch this webinar by Lisa Suttora:
