It’s the morning and I’m torn. Do I go out and Scout or do I stay home and process stuff to send to FBA. Both are important. And honestly, some of the stuff I have sitting at home is questionable – it was purchased before I started being more selective with what I bought. However,it is long-tail stuff. Things that may not sell very quickly, but eventually, someone will buy it.
So, off I go to do some “Selective Speed Scouting”, here’s the plan:
– Quickly scan books and media – new items, unusual stuff, etc.
– All sections – look for anything new.
– Toys – new items and “Amazon Collectible” items.
GOAL is to come home with some fabulous new items with large ROI potential. And to do it quickly.
I need to remember to do “Selective Speed Scouting”
I’d like to hit 4 or 5 thrift stores and maybe a Walmart. I’ll be heading out after I walk the dog who has already been driving me nuts this morning. If I had one of those “doggy daycare” places nearby I would seriously consider sending him there during my work day! LOL.
I’ll update this post when I get back.
I hit 2 thrift stores in 2 hours.
I found 7 collectible toys in total for $9.50 some at this tiny thrift shop and a few at one of the larger thrift shops I go to.
I also walked away with 2 boxes filled with brand new toys, some new VHS tapes and a new DVD set.
I was more selective and actually passed up some items that I would have bought previously.
Total amount spent = $77.33
Total amount these items were listed for = $1309.13 + the “collectible” toys.
Going to work on these toys tonight – make sure they have all of their pieces and they’ll be shipped off to Amazon on Monday.
While I may not have sped through my scouting like I had envisioned – but – I was definitely more selective with the items I purchased and I didn’t dilly dally as much as I used to. Progress
